Abbye learned to speak Croatian at a young age with her step-grandfather who took a boat across the sea to come to the United States when he was fourteen years old. Her sense of family and missing the old times with her grandfather prompted her to write her first book about a Croatian motorcycle club in the US.

Gerald Eugene Stano 
Born on September 12, 1952 in Schenectady, New York and died at age 46 on March 23, 1998 in Starke, Florida by the Electric Chair. Gerald was a serial killer that was  convicted forgery and killing 22 women, but he confessed to killing 41 women.

  1. I hadn't heard of this guy and just looked him up. It seems there was a "conspicuous lack of physical evidence" regarding his confessions, and the lead detective was later removed from his job by a grand jury and accused of corruption. Still, Stano was abused (early on) and definitely wasn't ever normal again, and some of his confessions matched the victim descriptions (wounds, clothing).
